Flower Girl Dress: Making Your Special Day Easy for the Little One

Comfort counts when selecting your flower girl’s dress. Pay attention to length – you don’t want your little angel tripping down the aisle her her dress. Dresses for flower girls with fringe, lace, beading around the collar, or tight elastic around the sleeves or waist can itch and be uncomfortable. If you choose dresses with these characteristics, make sure that your flower girl is comfortable.

Invite the flower girl to showers and bridal luncheons so that she gets acquainted with the bridal party. This will make your flower girl more comfortable on wedding day when the members of the bridal party are fussing over her and giving her instructions. She can will feel much more comfortable if she is treated with respect and given attention and know how pretty she will be.

Seat the flower girl’s parents close to the front so she can see them as she is walking down the aisle. Tell your flower girl to focus on them and she will be encouraged by their reassurance. And as pretty as she will look, everybody will notice her and say “oh what a nice flower girl”. Flower girls have to be as comfortable as possible to lead the way for the bride in their dress.
